Shagofah Ghafori is a professional Social Research and Translator. She began her career as reporting coordinator with the Afghan Workforce Development Program – AWDP in the west zone of Afghanistan. Later on as a Social Researcher with International Advisory Services – IAS she has traveled to the most insecure areas of Afghanistan to explore social and economic challenges through qualitative research methods. Her scope of work was not limited to a particular area. Starting from Herat and Farah she reached Badakhshan and Kandahar conducting social research, interpreting, and coordinating. As part of Afghanistan SUPOORT II project Shagofah has coordinated all financial activities through five regions of Afghanistan. She has traveled to most of these regions conducting field monitoring activities and also qualitative assessment as local Civil Society and Media Specialist.

Developing the scope of her activities, Shagofah entered the European Academy of Diplomacy as the first Afghan girl in Poland which provided her the opportunity of international network building. During the one-year diploma program, she has specialized in Diplomacy and International Organizations. Later on, she started her Master in European and Global Studies in Italy. Shagofah is now voluntarily working with Interface Demography, Vrije University of Brussels as research assistant. During her studies, she kept working as a freelance translator and social researcher with various companies including DAI – Invest, ACMARI, and TAGHEER.

Shagofah experience working with national and international organizations in various fields and within different contexts has excelled her in report writing, professional data collection (qualitative, quantitative, and desk research), developing M&E tools, and actor mapping. Moreover, Shagofah’s negotiation, networking, and lobbying skills are backed by leadership and diplomacy art.
