Mid-term Review of Amplify Change Project – Supporting Women Rights in Afghanistan

OXFAM is implementing Amplify Change, a 5-year project supporting Women’s Rights in Herat, Balkh and Nangarhar provinces. The project is funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC). The project is supporting Afghan women and girls to participate more effectively in decision-making about their society by engaging and empowering them to use their legal rights.

OXFAM awarded TAGHEER to conduct the mid-term evaluation of this project to assess the project intermediate and immediate outcome indicators as a result of the accomplished activities from May 2017 to date.

TAGHEER will use mixed methodology for this evaluation comprised of a literature review and around 400 structured survey, KIIs, and FGDs with direct and in-direct beneficiaries to triangulate/validate and strengthen the evaluation findings, reflected in the evaluation report, which will bring forward the perspectives of women and girls and their living experiences in challenging the unequal gender and power relations in Balkh and Herat provinces.

We will also Review strategies and assumptions of the project in relation to its Theory of Change, identify key lessons learned, and Provide recommendations towards improving the project implementation to OXFAM in Afghanistan, Canada, and GAC.
