EXPLORING NON-FORMAL EDUCATION FOR UNESCO IN 5 PROVINCES
TAGHEER is implementing the Non-formal Education (NFE) sub-sector analysis; an exploratory research for UNESCO in five provinces, namely Kabul, Bamyan, Balkh, Nangarhar, and Kandahar. We plan to conduct 80 Focus Group Discussions “FGDs” in all provinces. The analysis will provide a reference for UNESCO direct future NFE policy development at the national and provincial levels.
TAGHEER conducted a one-day training workshop for 10 local research assistants to educate them on i) interview guide, ii) research ethics, iii) proper respondent selection and FGD techniques, and iv) the pre-testing of the FGD guide to give researchers the confidence and capacity to conduct the interviews in field with provincial education departments, district education department, school shuras, CDCs, female shuras, beneficiaries, IDPs/refuges, and self help group.
